Changes to the regulatory environment within which Financial Services firms must operate have already given rise to a huge volume of documentation . . .and more changes proposed! Although the Internet is a valuable channel for the publishing authorities in terms of consultation papers, directives, guidelines and the like, it has some drawbacks for the intended recipients - the financial institutions themselves. Currently if companies, industry groups or individuals want to find documents or information relating to a specific subject, they need to locate the various sites that contain documents relating to that subject, and regularly perform manual searches to maintain currency. By virtue of the quantity (e.g. "MiFID" entered into a search engine indicates around half a million results now) and diversity of documentation , some of which may be of varying relevance to particular individuals or companies, information may be difficult to keep track of and access. These problems can only increase over time.

To address these issues Lexington has developed the Regulatory Document Portal - The RDP. The Portal takes the form of a database, accessible via a standard internet browser and containing a comprehensive list of documentation emanating from specific regulatory and other sites. On the information source side, The RDP is kept up to date through the use of sophisticated web-trawling software focusing on the appropriate documentation sources. On the user's side, a documentation management framework provides flexible search, retrieval and annotation facilities, as well as communications functions enabling colleagues to inform each other within their own "user community", of any and all items which may be of specific interest.

Subscription to The RDP will be available to most corporate users on a free of charge basis.

The RDP has been developed in conjunction with our partners at OCEAN, using their Rapid Application Development environment for interactive web-based business applications. This is the technology that allows us to roll out tactical solutions quickly and effectively across the client's enterprise using standard browser technology.
